  • Portland Harbour Authority invite interested parties to a drop-in session to find out more about our plans to apply to Defra for a fisheries order legally known as a Several Order. Several Orders are granted for setting up or improving private shellfisheries and in this case will relate to crustaceans and molluscs. In securing the Order the harbour authority’s policy is one of “being supportive of improving the cultivation/ management of the fishery but in doing so it must be mindful of the activities of the harbour’s existing users and the environment.”

  • The Spirit of Portland Festival is a week-long series of events which is held every year as a celebration of Portland’s unique heritage, culture and natural environment. This year the festival was held from 27th July through to the 5th August, and included a garden party, an interpretative walk of Tout Quarry Sculpture Park, an archaeological dig, a boat trip of the fleet and an opportunity to meet Portland Port as just a few examples of what was on offer.

  • The start of Portland Port's cruise season was spectacular! The first ship of 2018 was the 20th visit by a Phoenix Reisen vessel, followed by the arrival of the enormous Norwegian Breakaway. It was the Norwegian Breakaway's inaugural call to Portland Port and she is the largest ship to ever call at Portland Port. Sunday 15th July has been another first for Portland Port, two ships from the same cruise line visiting on the same day; the Seven Seas Navigator and Seven Seas Explorer.
