With over 2000 linear metres of operational berthing available, the ability to handle up to ships 300m LOA (at harbourmasters discretion) and water depths alongside up to 11.6m C.D; Portland Port creates ideal opportunities to reduce cost and streamline any supply chain. The commercial team at Portland Port is responsible for the development of all cargo operations as well as securing long term business for the port. The ports unique position on the South Coast and in the centre of a vast agricultural landscape mean that its close proximity to the English Channel and continental Europe makes it an attractive proposition to a variety of agricultural business.
In addition to this Portland Port is continuing to develop its capabilities in handling hazardous cargoes the ports stevedores are well experience in aspects in handling this cargo including loading, discharging, packing and stuffing.
