Pilotage
Portland Harbour Authority's Marine Department provides pilotage 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to all vessels from the pilotage station to, or from, all anchorages and berths. All pilots are employees of the Statutory Harbour Authority. The Authority's two pilot vessels are 'Culverwell', a new build Interceptor 42 vessel capable of 25 knots in most sea conditions and 'Rodwell' a second Interceptor 42 vessel. Both are fully certificated pilot vessels.
